Description
Our historic mustard – the mustard that made “taste history”!
Why is our historical mustard called “historical”? Because the recipe dates back to 1820. And still tastes good! This means that the recipe for our “Historic Mustard” is almost as old as our historic watermill, on whose grounds our historic mustard mill is located, where the grains for our mustard creations are ground.
How is our historic mustard made?
Cleaned, crushed, degreased and then ground. There are many stages on the mustard seed’s journey. And yet that is not the end of the journey. Only after water, vinegar, salt, sugar and the special spices have been added does the historic mustard have everything it needs. Similar to beer production, mustard production involves a mash that has to mature for at least four weeks to give the mustard its unique taste.
What does historical mustard go best with?
Historic mustard is an all-rounder and can be used in a variety of ways, whether with cold or hearty hot dishes. The historic mustard gives dishes a deliciously spicy note – whether vegetarian or with meat. It is our universal genius among mustard varieties! He conjures up delicatessen delicacies from simple bread meals. It adds a spicy note to mustard sauces served with lunch or dinner.
Another storage tip!
Please ensure that you store the mustard in a cool, dark place after opening. This is because it retains its perfect taste and wonderfully fresh sharpness over a longer period of time!
